Roadhouse Simulator Guide

Building and repairs

A busy roadhouse destroys its own furniture. Repairing is the cheap option, replacing is the expensive one, and there is a hard limit on how many times a piece can be saved — so this page is about keeping your bar out of the scrap heap.

The back room workbench: crates, bottles and a board of orders

Placing furniture and decorations

From DRAGO's "Build It in Your Way" devlog:

  • You choose from designated areas around the roadhouse — it is not free placement anywhere.
  • You can pick up and reposition placed objects, or store them away for later, so the layout can change as the business grows.
  • Larger furniture sets occupy their full footprint — a big set needs the space to actually fit, so measure before you buy.

The decorations side kept growing after launch: Pub Lights (October 3, 2026) added a mixer for the bar's lighting — set the colours, load cartridges to blend new ones, and reset to start over.

The repair system, exactly as the devlog describes it

  1. Equip the hammer (Molly) from your tool wheel.
  2. Look at destroyed furniture to see a ghost preview.
  3. Green preview = repairable. Point and interact to start rebuilding it.
  4. Red preview = beyond repair. It has to be replaced.
  5. Every piece has a repair limit — each fix brings it closer to the point of no return.

That is why the store page tells you to "keep some spare furniture around": furniture is closer to ammunition than to decoration.

Cleaning: three separate jobs

Demo hotfix #3 specifically added garbage removal by button press — before that, clearing trash was more manual. If you played the Prologue earlier in 2026 and found the cleanup tedious, that was fixed in the Demo.

Staff: who to hire and why

The store's "Build a Crew" feature lists four roles:

  • Bartender — pours. This is the job that scales with Hype.
  • Server — delivers orders. This is the job that stops your bar from stalling at peak.
  • Cleaner — bodies, stains and debris. The single best hire for a one-person bar, because mess is what gets you inspected.
  • Bouncer — handles the door and the trouble, freeing you to manage instead of fight.

"You can't do everything yourself forever" is DRAGO's own framing — and keep the crew paid, because wages are an ongoing cost, not a one-time purchase.

Supplies and storage

  • Deliveries arrive and wait for you to unload them ("Delivery is waiting" in the objective feed).
  • Kegs are physical and must be attached when a tap runs dry.
  • The vending machine needs restocking.
  • The back room is where you stash, package and deliver questionable cargo — with a board showing the current order, a package size, a price, and colour-coded counts for each product type.

Keeping the place standing

  1. Repair green, replace red — never carry a red piece into a busy night.
  2. Keep two spare tables if you host gang nights.
  3. Hire a cleaner before you buy a slot machine.
  4. Clean up before closing, so the inspection you cannot see coming has nothing to find.
  5. Reposition furniture away from the door and the bar front, where brawls actually happen.

Unconfirmed at launch

Furniture prices and how many repairs each item type allows are still unpublished, so the store's own advice — keep spares — remains the safest planning assumption.

One purchase that simply would not complete has been fixed: Hotfix #2 restored the reinforced chair. Hotfix #5 also fixed a duplicate arrow appearing above the washer, which is cosmetic but was making the repair station look busier than it was. Hotfix #6 then tidied the place up: waiters no longer repair fully broken furniture (so a red piece stays red until you get to it), floating mugs, trays and cigarettes were brought back down, and the decorations tab's empty icons, wrong-rotation hanging decorations and missing destroyed-decoration textures were corrected. One fix to know about if you were using it as a trick: the crew room no longer acts as a safe zone.

Music Stage gear and the October 13 hotfix

The Music Stage added a repair job to the show: once a band is playing, speakers can blow mid-set and the Hype boost stays off until you bash them back into shape, so a booked gig wants a hammer within reach right up to the last song.

Hotfix #7 (October 13, 13:00 UTC) then cleaned up the delivery side of the same feature. Four fixes, all of them on the music stage quest line:

  • Closing the Roadhouse before the music stage unlocked could block progression; that is fixed.
  • The "Listen to the concert" objective did nothing; it now fires.
  • The music truck went missing during the "Pick up the instruments from the music truck" objective; it shows up again.
  • Customers parked in the music truck's parking spot and got in the way of the gear run; they no longer do.

Toilets, and the October 18 devlog

DRAGO's October 18 post is a short essay on the least glamorous job in the bar. When the toilets are clogged and customers have nowhere to go, some of them decide the nearest wall will do — which, as the post puts it, is not how plumbing works. Catch a customer in the act and you can smack them straight in the face to make them stop; DRAGO is refreshingly honest that this is not the sophisticated solution, just the faster one. The actual answer is prevention: keep the bathrooms working, because your fists "can solve a lot of problems at the Roadhouse, but they can't fix the plumbing".

The October 17 patch cleaned up this corner too: the left toilet's plunger no longer disappears after the plunging minigame, the "toilet needs cleaning" prompt no longer vanishes when you clean a partly clogged toilet (or clean and then save and load), and grass no longer grows inside the toilets.
