What it costs
The store page showed no price at all on launch day. It settled at $19.99; the introductory 10% discount to $17.99 ran through October 5 and was the launch offer, not the permanent price. The appdetails API returns $19.99 at 0% off with no offer banner (checked October 17, 2026); regional pricing differs and the store page is the authority.
Where it fits in the series
Roadhouse Simulator is a standalone prelude to Gas Station Simulator, following Uncle — the same character — back when he takes charge of a rundown roadside bar on Route 66. The store page calls it standalone, so you do not need Gas Station Simulator to play it.
The development history explains a lot of the game's content. What became Roadhouse Simulator started as Shady Deals, a DLC pitch for Gas Station Simulator. It grew too large to stay a DLC — the more systems the pub needed, the less sense it made as an add-on, per DRAGO's devlog — and was rebuilt as its own game: new code, and roughly 90% of assets created or remade from scratch. Some things survived the transition: All The Dots, the gangs, and Octane, who was Uncle's mentor in the old project and became the "Roadhouse Godfather" in this one.
What about consoles?
Nothing announced as of October 19, 2026. Roadhouse Simulator shipped on Steam for Windows, with a GOG listing alongside, and no DRAGO announcement so far mentions PS5, Xbox or Switch — the "Roadhouse Simulator PS5" searches are players asking, not a page answering. Note the studio did eventually bring Gas Station Simulator to consoles, so this is a no-announcement, not a no-forever: a confirmed console version would land here first.
After the hotfixes: what comes next
A September 26 post signed off by the team — "Future Updates: A Quick Word from the Team" — says plainly that "we're not done": more content is in the works and player feedback is actively shaping it, but the studio is deliberately not detailing it yet ("we'd rather show you than tease you"). No dates and no roadmap as of October 19, 2026. The pattern so far: a content drop (the Mini Casino & Decorations on September 24, Pub Lights on October 3, the Music Stage on October 10), then a wave of fixes.

Launch week and after: hotfixes #1–#7
DRAGO shipped Hotfix #1 through #7 between the September 21 unlock and October 13: the first six inside six days, #7 two and a half weeks later, after the October content updates. They are short, specific, and mostly progression-blocking fixes rather than polish:
| Hotfix | Posted (UTC) | What it changed |
|---|---|---|
| #1 | Sep 21, 19:00 | Bloated player inventory (applied retroactively to existing saves) and stray moonshine-bottle widgets after loading; a "light tuning pass" on balance and quieter ambient bar noise |
| #2 | Sep 22, 06:58 | Achievements that could not be unlocked; the reinforced chair that could not be bought; Simplified Chinese added, plus localization and AI fixes |
| #3 | Sep 22, 10:18 | Vending machine greyed out on the office PC, which blocked supply orders and story progression (fix applies to existing saves); Simplified Chinese invisible for some players |
| #4 | Sep 22, 16:00 | Achievements already earned in-game are now awarded retroactively when a save loads; the stuck first-bet tutorials in the pig race and Fight Club; a missing drug order after closing the bar; a delivery car that never arrived; beer vanishing when served to the two front-bar patrons; shot glasses eaten by picking a bottle up and setting it down; mugs spawning below floor level |
| #5 | Sep 23, 14:00 | The pig disappearing when carried onto the influence map; the R/F controls tutorial sticking with an empty keg; a stuck objective blocking the Fight Club story; the policeman wandering off during a closed-bar inspection; an upgrade pick greyed out; the misspelled "Business Cost" achievement name |
| #6 | Sep 25, 16:08 | A stuck "Place your bet" UI when the bar was closed mid-objective; the questline sticking on save or load after betting in "Keep the Fight Club Going"; throwing away the moonshine quest box; the policeman arriving early before "Pack the order"; inputs dropping out with a carried NPC or after loading a save; the crew room acting as a safe zone; car traffic stopping after a save; Octane's model duplicating on save; floating mugs, trays and cigarettes; the slot machine's looping SFX and its broken ESC exit; decoration icons, rotation and texture bugs; Polish localization fixes |
| #7 | Oct 13, 13:00 | Four Music Stage fixes: closing the Roadhouse before the music stage unlocked could block progression; the "Listen to the concert" objective did nothing; the music truck went missing during the "Pick up the instruments from the music truck" objective; customers parked in the music truck's parking spot |
Through Hotfix #7 none of the patches rewrites a system or a number: Hotfix #1's unnamed tuning pass was the only balance change, and DRAGO did not itemise it. Hotfix #7 is the first patch aimed at a single content update — the Music Stage — and its headline fix is a progression block: closing the bar before the stage unlocked used to stop you moving forward.
The first rebalance patch (October 17, 2026)
Four days after Hotfix #7, the pattern broke: the Economy & Progression Rebalance Patch rewrites numbers rather than bugs. Fines, wages and several Influence Map unlocks went up, three pint prices and the vending machine's sell prices went down, the Hype limit per level rose from +6 to +8, and police arrivals slowed to a 480–660 second window (was 420–600). Before/after tables: Money & Upgrades and Gangs & the Sheriff.
Content update: the Mini Casino and decorations
The first content drop landed on September 24 (16:00 UTC) and is not a hotfix: it adds a Mini Casino and a decorations system.
- Mini Casino. Slot machines you install on the bar floor, upgrade through the upgrade tree, and — like the pig race and the Fight Club — it pays you while patrons gamble away their night. You can also step up and spin the reels yourself.
- Decorations. Decorative items to dress the bar up. For launch week they had no published Hype value; that changed on October 17, when the rebalance published three decoration prices and their delivery Hype (see Money & Upgrades).
- Why it matters here. The launch threads kept asking about a "third gambling operation", because the gambling star meter implied three attractions while only pig racing and the Fight Club could be reached. The Mini Casino is that third operation.
The update also carried a long fix list: tutorials that broke after placing objects on the Influence Map, Fuel Station or Moonshine Station; Octane and his crew vanishing if you opened the bar during the final battle; the drug-making tutorial breaking at the lowest FOV setting; input dying if you were knocked out during the moonshine minigame; the security guard being able to knock you out; garbage removal eating the trash you were still holding; a save-and-load exploit that could turn a fine into an all-clear; and NPCs refusing the right-hand toilet when the left one was dirty.
As of September 26, DRAGO has not published prices for the slot machines or the decoration set, and the build ships as the launch build plus these updates.
Content update: Pub Lights (October 3, 2026)
Another content drop landed on October 3 and is not a hotfix: it adds Pub Lights, a mixer for the bar's lighting, plus more decorations.
- Pub Lights. A light mixer for the bar: you set the colours your lighting shows, load cartridges to blend new colours into the mix, and reset the setup when you want to start over.
- More decorations. The decoration catalogue was expanded again in the same update.
- A big round of fixes. DRAGO calls it "a big round of fixes" and does not itemise them, so there is nothing more specific to add.
Content update: the Music Stage (October 10, 2026)
The October 10 drop puts a live band on the bar floor, and DRAGO's own write-up describes the whole loop:
- A band pitches you a gig. Every so often a band pulls up out back and their manager offers you a show: the cost, the set length and the Hype boost are on the table before you take the deal.
- You haul the gear. Load their instruments onto the stage and, in DRAGO's words, "the whole room rides that Hype boost while they play".
- The speakers are the weak point. They can blow mid-set and cost you the boost until you bash them back into shape — a show is something you babysit, not a passive earner.
- Longer sets, or your crew. The stage upgrades for longer sets, and once your crew can run a show you can hand it over.
The update carried another fix list too: a shot glass obscured during "Pour Shots"; a skip in the condom delivery quest; lockpicking blocking the "See what the Police officer wants" objective; new tables ignoring custom lighting; beer coasters reading as occupied during "Beer Serving Level 4"; a squatting gangster clipping through the motorcycle in the gang intro cinematic; missing lighting across the Roadhouse; and a "You can't use it right now" popup when pressing the left mouse button while carrying the pig.
The achievements are live
On launch day both the store listing and the stats page were empty. They filled in within 24 hours: the community stats page lists 50 achievements and the global percentage API returns the same 50 names. Completion rates on September 24, 2026 ran from 92.7% down to 0.8%.
| Achievement | Unlocked by |
|---|---|
| House Pour | 92.7% |
| Fresh Start | 90.1% |
| Plunger of Justice | 87.2% |
| Steady Under Fire | 84.1% |
| Beginner's Luck | 50.2% |
| Money While You Sleep | 43.3% |
| Turn Up the Hype | 37.1% |
| I Didn't Hear No Bell | 12.9% |
| See You Around, Kid | 6.2% |
| Taking Out The Trash | 5.4% |
| The House Always... | 0.9% |
| I Occasionally Invest | 0.8% |
Two of them were broken on day one and fixed inside it: Hotfix #2 fixed achievements that would not unlock, and Hotfix #4 grants anything you earned in-game retroactively when you load your save. The rare tail shows what people actually finish — trash duty, deep gambling and the late-story beats — and it is the closest thing to public completion data this game has.
How long it is, per the developer
Length was launch week's loudest complaint. Players posted finishing everything in four to five hours ("pretty much beat the game in 5 hours. fully maxed out, nothing left to do"), and the thread titled "very short" ran to ten replies. DRAGO's community voice Mercus answered it on September 23:
Thanks for the feedback, it is shorter than our usual simulator as it was originally planned as a DLC and then turned into full game however, we didn't want to artificially extend the gameplay further as one of the feedbacks from Gas Station was that challenges between upgrades were grindy / annoying - and we already achieved progression through territory aquisition before major upgrades.
The same reply puts their internal playtest average at 8–9 hours for a new player, against the four to seven hours players reported. DRAGO also posted on September 22 that a content update was planned for that week — it shipped as the Mini Casino & decorations update on September 24.
How much interest the launch had
Gamalytic, a third-party analytics site, estimated about 40,400 outstanding wishlists, roughly 170 adds per day in the final days before launch, and a global top-wishlist rank near #1,300 — estimates, not Valve numbers, and they drift fast now that the game is out.
In the seven days before launch YouTube search returned roughly 4,700 videos using the game's name, with creator videos in the 20k–100k view range across English, Italian, Russian, Hungarian and Indonesian channels — the coverage wave was real, and it matters more than the wishlist number for how fast search demand forms.
Three days in, the store rating read Mostly Positive on roughly 135 reviews (September 24, 2026) — a snapshot; the count moves hourly.
Where the free versions sit
- Roadhouse Simulator - Prologue (free, May 19, 2026, app 4417950) — the pre-story, and after its content update it plays close to the core loop.
- Roadhouse Simulator Demo (free, August 13, 2026, app 4704270) — the bar end-to-end with more beer types, police pressure and the Hype meter.
